ip08072501-dishes_from_the_pot_in_Slovenia

I am offering an idea for a new product: We are putting together a programme for a bus tour of five locations, where we will offer dishes from the pot: Prekmurje bograč, Pohorje pisker and so forth.

Guests obtain the recipes and if they wish they can also join in the preparation of dishes. Of course they also tour the local area, where they learn the story of individual dishes. And they definitely do not miss out on local desserts and local wines.

ip08062401-clothing_in_original_designs_for_employees_in_hotel

Clothing in original designs for employees in all hotel departments (reception, waiting staff, kitchen, rooms, sales). The design is in the hands of a young local industrial designer who collaborates with a textile designer and fashion designer.

The clothing illustrates a linking of tradition and modernity and relates to Slovenia’s cultural heritage.

ip08060601-underground_adventure_park

Around the world and in Slovenia, too, a rapidly growing trend is spending time in an extreme, adrenaline-boosting way. We are therefore seeing all around us the construction of more and more high-adrenaline entertainment and adventure centres.

I have drawn up a plan of currently the only underground adventure park. This would include activities that are currently pursued above ground as well as several activities not yet provided anywhere.

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). “Financial Pool” is the title of a project designed to ensure the necessary financing for the implementation and realisation of innovative, sustainable and feasible business ideas from tourism students. The “Financial Pool” team will seek out and study the possibility of financing from various European funds, ministries, municipalities, local communities and more.

ip08052911-better_Primorska

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). My idea is challenging but feasible! My aim is to raise the young and young at heart up onto their feet, and motivate them to make their Primorska surroundings more attractive and pleasing to the eye! Children would be taken care of, young people would work at full stretch, older people would help, they would guide tourists and guide us. If you want nicer local surroundings, more events and a revival of old customs, contact me!

ip08052909-wilderness_within_reach

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). Wilderness within reach; fulfillable dreams that will awaken in you a real desire for a true experience, grilling steaks on an open fire, sleeping under the gentle stars… You will be enchanted with the fantastic experiencing of nature, wild animals, forest, plant life and more. You will be intoxicated by the smell of winter snow, inspired by the freshness of spring, enamoured of the summer breezes and surprised at the colours of autumn. Whether or not this Kočevje fairy-tale is a short experience for the senses or a long spoiling of yourself. The wilderness, wilderness within reach will always be there to draw you in.

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). The Kingdom of Green Gold theme park has been established in the area of the Lower Savinja Valley, and it is based in essence on the literary heritage and oral tradition of the valley.

ip08052904-eco_villages

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). Eco villages are a way of approaching the thinking and philosophy behind a sustainable way of life, which would be transferred to the Slovenian land, a land characterised by beautiful nature but also by the threat of its destruction. The eco village is a bold idea offering a solution for the survival of the Slovenian countryside and farmers, preservation of nature and improvement of people’s health, not to mention the possibilities for developing sustainable tourism. This way of life will enable the long-term survival and development of humans. By establishing ecological family villages at carefully considered locations (in existing and future parks), we could transfer this approach to the majority population in the local area, surroundings, region and country, and this would bring greater attractiveness in the eyes of nature lovers, since people could actually function according to the principle “think globally, act locally” and in this way help to nurture and protect nature for all of us.

ip08052908-the_house_of_Cult-tours

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). The sales gallery space in the old city centre of Novo mesto presents the crafts people of the local area, creators who are not yet established, their distribution and other actors in the field of culture and tourism. The House of Cult-tours will be divided thematically into three sections: cultural heritage, modern culture and cultural info.

ip08052907-welnessTur

ip08052905-sales_of_hotel_capacities_through_ the_ auction

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). Through a new approach (already tested and operating) to sales I want to fill vacant hotel capacities, especially in periods that are not attractive for guests (pre- and post-season dates, individual days during the week) through a system where the potential guest himself offers a price for the room. In the event that the offered price is acceptable to the hotel, the reservation will be confirmed, otherwise the reservation is not confirmed, and the guest is offered the lowest room price acceptable for the hotel.

ip08052903-camp_of_yurts

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). I wish to set up a summer camp of yurts in the area of the Karst, in an oak forest surrounded by pastureland, where sheep and goats would graze and also give milk, from which we would make fresh food. The camp would comprise 15-20 yurts and one cabin providing a kitchen, reception, washroom, common room and furniture. We would also establish an interpretive trail and a grass playing field, and a guide would present how people used to live. Through various customs as well as old and new games, guests would get to know each other and have fun, and in this way come truly close.

We would establish a relaxed atmosphere, which is a good precondition for daytime activities. The wider area surrounding the camp would also be properly arranged (walls repaired, trails marked etc.)

Activities at the camp and around it would involve: various herding games, singing, stories, making instruments and implements from wood and stone. Guests would also be offered plenty of local food, which would be prepared from fresh ingredients. Guests could also be involved in various works, customs, habits, practices and events. (Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval)

ip08052902-small_hotel_of_Turistica

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). The Turistica tourism academy could operate a small hotel in Portorož. In the hotel students could do their practical training by running the entire system independently.

On the ground floor there would be an internet café, or a gathering place for short excursions to Istria, in order to take advantage of the just-completed course on Istrian treasures entitled Heart of Istria (Path of the Gods, Frescos, Fortified Istria, Venetian Heritage). Professional material is currently available and it would be a real shame not to use it. A group of guides offering these programmes could also work here. I think that there would be no shortage of manpower, or of good ideas for various offers and services.

ip08052901-agorafonia

(Link to cover: ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval). Agoraphonia is a project of musical animation aimed at coming together in a square, where various musical genres of the world are presented and meet. The project involves the collaboration of 1 or more brass bands, 1 or more choirs, other musical groups (percussionists, folk musicians), 1 flautist, 1 violinist, 1 saxophonist, 4 rock guitarists, 3 theatre performers, a clown on stilts, jugglers, puppeteers, street performers, hawkers, mimes, majorettes and so forth – no one is absolutely essential, but the more the merrier.
Interaction with members of the public that join with the performers. In addition to these the project envisages the participation of a further 40 to 60 musicians maximum (students, teachers, amateurs and professionals), who would participate in 3 daily workshops, where together with the leaders they would determine the musicality of the square, everything in the square that can be turned into an instrument or percussion, and they would also participate in directing and set-up. A group of children drawing to live music could also participate. The event could be staged in Piran and then repeated in Milje (Muggia, Italy).

ip08050601_waterfalls_of_Slovenia_and_energy_points

The concept of “Waterfalls of Slovenia and energy points – source of energy and health” includes a programme for a 5-day bus tour of the waterfalls of Slovenia and energy points.

A proposal has been formulated for (1) routes, (2) a guidebook with a description of the falls and locales and (3) a CD with photos of the falls and stories about them.

ip08031801_virtual_slovenia

The idea has the same basis as already existing virtual museums. Virtual mapping techniques would be used in tourist locations (and, potentially, other locations) across Slovenia to create computerised images of towns, villages, castles etc., allowing visitors to "walk" through them and with a click of the mouse view whatever interests them.

ip08031303_secrets_from_ears_istria_to_sea

In 2005 we initiated a project called "Secrets from the Ears of Istria to the Sea", of which we are the coordinators, in conjunction with the City of Koper.

We have established that the project is desirable and necessary in this part of Slovenian Istria and that it should be continued. The scope of the work is broad and multi-layered. The work will be conducted at several levels by a variety of operators, which will also guarantee better results and greater possibilities of final realisation.

From the very beginning it was envisaged that this route should also contain tourism potential. Several themed routes are developing within the project: The Smokvica Green Nature Trail, Movraž with Moravška Vala, The Edge of Moravška Vala, From Kubed to Hrastovlje, From the Source of the Rižana to its Mouth.

The project will include presentations of the life of the villagers in times past, local societies and their activities, and characteristic elements of the landscape in Slovenian Istria. The project covers the cultural, natural, historical and architectural significance of the locations.

ip08031302_museum_gallery_centre_hrastovlje

Our purpose is to enrich the presentation of the extraordinarily rich and very specific cultural heritage in the old part of Hrastovlje, famous all over the world for its frescoes.

a) The opening of a gallery in the very centre of the village devoted to the renowned sculptor Jože Pohlen, a native of Hrastovlje and the man who discovered the frescoes.
b) The opening of a gallery devoted to the painter and fresco restorer Viktor Snoj.
c) We plan to install an exhibition of the ethnographic collections of museums in Slovenia and abroad in the village's community centre. In the future we are counting on a larger purpose-built space in which to install our own permanent ethnographic collection and a presentation of Istrian frescoes.
d) Tasting centre for local products.
e) Shop selling Istrian specialities and local wine.
f) Regulation of tourist footpath, medieval monuments. From the centre of the village to the Church of the Holy Trinity and on to the little church in Zanigrad. A longer variant would continue to the tower in Podpeč and Castle Socerb or alternatively in the direction of Kubed to the towers at Sočerga and Abitanti.
g) Installation of appropriate street furniture.

We are seeking co-financers.

ip08022601_wireless_network

We are preparing to upgrade the tourist experience in Koper with free wireless internet access with additional web content for tourists, citizens and students. We will set up a wireless network that will enable users internet access from the outdoor location of their choice. We would like to cover the whole of Pristaniška Ulica and the town beach, Cankarjeva Ulica and part of the Bonifica area. Users with laptops will be able to connect to the internet and browse the web.

ip08012801_european_cultural_village

The European Cultural Village is an integrated centre of European cultural heritage and contemporary culture whose purpose is to promote and teach about the European cultural area. The diversity of today's 27 EU Member States implies, as well as many advantages (the diversity of the cultural area), certain weaknesses in relation to communication and understanding of this multiculturality and the common European identity, and therefore a centre of this kind presents itself as a kind of point of intersection of a multicultural Europe that is dispersed over an area of more than 4.3 million square kilometres.

The idea is to establish the first European cultural centre of this kind (ECV), where activities connected with the promotion of Europe's multiculturality will take place. The contents of the promotion of European multiculturality are linked to the widest variety of forms of social culture in EU Member States (cuisine, music, language, folklore, architecture, etc.) and of broader elements of social creativity (science, education, sport, etc.). The ECV can also market itself as a tourist attraction, an events centre, a centre for sporting events, a campsite or other form of accommodation for visitors to the centre, educational purposes, etc.

ep07122401_bi_ti_sodeloval

DoŠT (Tourism Students Association) and UP Turistica, in collaboration with the Bank of Tourism Potentials of Slovenia, present the project "Bi ti sodeloval? - BT(P)S!" [Would you like to take part? BT(P)S!]

DoŠT has set aside EUR 2000 for the public promotion of the project participants and their ideas for introducing tourism innovations in Slovenia. The project offers:

1. an opportunity to verify the feasibility of an individual idea
2. help in finding partners and funds for the realisation of the idea
3. an opportunity to promote the idea and the team

The end product of the project is an event that will take place at the end of the 07/08 academic year at UP Turistica, where students of the college of tourism and other interested participants will present their tourism development ideas to the general public in the context of a social event and thus gain an opportunity for promotion and networking.

In the months before the event, participants will be able to formulate, verify and supplement their ideas. Mentors (professors from UP Turistica) will be available to them during this period. The Bank of Tourism Potentials of Slovenia will help in the evaluation of the ideas submitted.
