ip07121401-e-salesperson

Time is a valuable commodity. The rapid pace of life makes it difficult for potential buyers of travel packages to visit travel agents to see what is on offer every time they want to make a journey.

An alternative to this is of course a travel agent's website, but as a tool this is very impersonal. How can a website or internet distribution channel be made more personal? The constant development of technology and computing means that this is now possible. Nearly all computers can handle audio and video, so why not use this technology in the travel industry?

The idea is based on travel agents offering a live conversation (sound and images) with an e-salesperson via their website. Naturally this salesperson would not be available 24 hours a day but only at certain times. People who wish to discuss a specific holiday package or request additional information would simply click to connect with the e-salesperson.

ip07120301_road_accidents

Road Accidents Museum. An association with the Minimundus miniature park in Klagenfurt, which draws visitors into an imaginary world. A museum of real road accidents is a simultaneously shocking and educational attraction.

  • shocking because the visitor would be able to see what happens to cars and passengers (dummies) in the case of a road accident
  • educational because as well as showing the situation after the accident it would also describe all the circumstances of the accident (alcohol, drugs, speed, fatalities, injuries and survivors, etc.) and the consequences of the accident (changes in the quality of life of the survivors, etc.)

Possibility of link-ups with additional ideas: e.g. a weekly live "crash test" where visitors would be able to see in real time what actually happens when two vehicles collide, etc. (more details in the full document).

It would be appropriate to link the idea to the corresponding bodies at the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior so as to ensure proper data protection, the obtaining of consent, etc.

ep07111601_gay_travellers

The website
http://www.sloveniaforgaytravelers.com/ (SFGT) is aimed at a segment of tourists that to date has received practically no attention in Slovenia. In other countries gay-friendly tourism is a perfectly normal and at the same time profitable business. This deposit offers all BTPS customers the chance to advertise tourism-related activities on our website.

1. SFGT is the first result of a Google (or other search engine) search using the search string gay+slovenia

2. SFGT is a very popular site and a good source of information for gay travellers, with 50–100 page views per day and 20–30 unique visitors per day

3. The gay population travels a lot and chooses quality services

4. Like all travellers, gay travellers (the majority of visitors to our website) above all require transport to their selected destination, comfortable accommodation and the possibility of excursions and transport around the country they are visiting. Visitors' main requirements are hotels and other comfortable overnight accommodation, good restaurants, entertainment, sports activities, cultural events, etc. They are also increasingly interested in purchasing property.

Make sure that your business is free from prejudices with regard to the lifestyle of the target group and work with us. You can view our price list here (all advertisers are also inserted free-of-charge on a special link exchange list).

Advantages for BTPS clients: (1) Those who contact us via the BTPS website by 31 March 2008 will be entitled to a 20% discount. (2) If you mediate successfully in the completion of a transaction (i.e. you find an advertiser) we offer a 30% commission on the value of the first transaction concluded and 20% of each subsequent transaction for the same client.

ip07102401_catering with a heart

The project was created in order to bring together people with a heartfelt commitment to catering. People who work in tourism are Slovenia's future.

Our aim for this project is for it to be one of the supreme gastronomic experiences a person can have. The project is broadly conceived and offers numerous possibilities. Our vision is to satisfy the senses of the most demanding guests, to develop conference and wellness tourism and offer people the range of opportunities for relaxation offered by idyllic surroundings. Above all our aim is to treat every visitor as an individual. We hope to compete with hotels and restaurants of the highest category.

ep07102301_business_angels

The Business Angels Club of Slovenia (hereinafter: the Club) is a network of successful entrepreneurs and executives interested in investing in promising start-up companies. As well as capital they offer them advice and access to their own extensive business networks. In view of the great untapped potential of tourism in Slovenia, the Club is very interested in tourism enterprise projects or tourism companies with the potential for rapid growth, excellent management and an outline investor exit strategy. Investments range from EUR 50,000 to 300,000. The two essential criteria are an investment period of between three and five years and a minimum 30-percent annual return.

The basic purposes of the Club are: identifying entrepreneurs ripe for equity financing, help in completing investment documentation and development of concepts, and bringing together entrepreneurs and the investors who are members of the Club. It is a point of contact for the most ambitious entrepreneurs and investors.

For the tourism sector the Business Angels Club of Slovenia and the Bank of Tourism Potentials in Slovenia have signed a cooperation agreement covering finding, evaluating, developing and investing in promising tourism idea deposits. In the sphere of tourism-related projects, the Club will give priority to those projects previously registered as BTPS idea deposits. The Club will be offered priority opportunities for investment in BTPS idea deposits in an investment range of EUR 50,000 to 300,000.

ip07102201_istrian_treasury

The Istrian Treasury project presents tourist destinations in the hinterland of the municipality of Koper by individual specific cultures. The results are interesting both for the individual (guided by a map) and for larger groups (information on a DVD).

All those who already have (or are preparing) their own activities in the sphere of the promotion of local Istrian cuisine, destinations of interest (hikes, excursions, discovering nature and natural sights), the presentation of Istrian traditions, etc. are invited to join us. We will present the whole range of activities by months, e.g. May: Cherry Month. Presentation of the cherry, a visit to at least one destination offering this product (open farm, workshop, cherry picking, etc.). Technical presentation by a representative of the Agricultural Advisory Service and a practical demonstration by a farmer, grower or open-farm manager.

The project will be presented in electronic form (DVD).

ip07091002_moving nature

Moving Nature is a fun educational project permanently installed in an urban environment or in the countryside that represents the specific cultural features of the place, region or area in connection with renewable sources of energy (water, solar, wind).

The project contributes to the promotion of efficient use of energy and the use of renewable sources and enables better understanding of all these contents and encourages more attractive methods of learning. I am seeking purchasers and co-financers.

ip07091001_national costume

Using a digital camera, a laptop with suitable software and a compact printer we offer tourists the chance to have a photograph or postcard of themselves dressed in the traditional costume of the place they are visiting. Women's and men's costumes (the property of folklore societies) are available in a selection of sizes. In this way tourists can learn about the costumes that form part of our cultural heritage.

We can also arrange performances (in hotels, for example) by a folklore group, including dances and an explanation of their origin. To supplement the idea we could organise trips across Slovenia (lasting a few days), taking in folklore, dances and national costumes, old traditions and local culinary specialities.

ip07082001-excursion_slo_istria

An upgrade to deposit ip07021402-izlet_slo_istria. We are seeking a local tourist agency located in the Slovenian part of Istria for a business venture. We have designed a new local excursion for tourists called the "Slavnik Hiking Trail". It is aimed at tourists staying in accommodation in Slovenian Istria. A local tourist agency will take over the organisation and advertising of the excursion, organise the sales network and have run the bookings centre. All tourist agencies in Slovenian Istria will be able to sell the excursion in collaboration with the designated agency. We have already had several "trial runs" of the excursion. The excursion begins and ends in Piran. I would personally take part in the first excursions in order to help make further improvements to organisation. Detailed documentation relating to the excursion has been prepared and we would like to carry out the first commercial excursion in early September 2007.

ip07080201_children_strawberries

Activity day designed for Year 1–3 primary school children, in line with the curriculum. The activities are adapted for the age group and for the most part take place in the country, in the fresh air and a tranquil environment. They are led by a local guide and last 180 minutes. The children learn about the geographical features of the eastern part of the Ljubljana region and get to know natural and cultural heritage and village "characters". Activities include finding the dragon's footprints, solving tasks and crosswords, doing jigsaws, making paper flowers and sampling farmhouse specialities. All of this is accompanied by the tale of the Land of Strawberries, which ends at the highest point in the urban municipality of Ljubljana, in Janče, where there is a wonderful view over the Julian Alps, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Pohorje Massif.

We would like to develop the project to make it suitable for families too. We are seeking co-financers.

ip07080104_stamps of slovenia

This idea is offered free of charge: A journey through Slovenia following motifs from Slovenian postage stamps. Motifs from postage stamps are the basis of the programme. The written programme includes a specific stamp describing places, events, peoples, sights, food, ethnological items, anniversaries. The stamps are the basis for the stories that lead us on an excursion lasting several days. The written programme also includes the stamps and their description.

The stamp commemorating Slovenian Independence is the basis for a description of history and a cue to visit all of Plečnik's works. The stamp commemorating 900 years of boat races on the river Ljubljanica is the cue to visit the river and take a boat trip. A stamp showing a reproduction of Rihard Jakopič's painting Among the Birches is the cue for a visit to the National Gallery.
The stamp showing a traditional Škofjeloški kruhek (a decorative pastry made from rye flour and honey shaped in a carved wooden mould) is an excuse to visit Škofja Loka and see a gingerbread maker at work, etc.

ip07080103_grape_harvesting

This idea is offered free of charge: organisation of grape harvesting in a privately owned vineyard. The grape harvesting is organised in an old-fashioned, ethnologically interesting way without using modern appliances. Pressing the grapes is done using an old wooden press. The harvesting includes a gastronomic event with typical dishes. It is also possible to start the event with the symbolic hoisting into position of a new wind rattle (to scare away the birds) and to prepare a special presentation brochure about this characteristic feature of Slovenia's vineyards.

ip07080102_personalised_postcard

This idea is offered free of charge: Using a digital camera, a laptop with suitable software and a compact printer (e.g. a Canon Selphy) we make personalised postcards with the tourist's chosen image and wording. The back of the paper for printing in the Canon printer is pre-printed in postcard format.

We can also send the photograph to an e-mail address or store it on a USB flash drive. A USB flash drive can also be used to store information about the tourist destination together with photographs for own use. The name of the tourist organisation is printed on the case of the USB flash drive.

ip07080101_town_coin

This idea is offered free of charge: We make a negative of the coat of arms of a town or other motif. A person dressed as a blacksmith uses a simple tool to "strike" a coin bearing the coat of arms and then formally presents it (sells it) to the tourist. The tourist will also receive a document containing a brief history of the town and a description of the motif on the coin. The coin-maker (blacksmith) is dressed as a craftsmen. Writing materials are also offered. We can also sell other tourist products that suit the context.

ip07072401_manor

Renovation of a manor house in SW Slovenia intended for wealthy guests. A favourable climate, a wide range of activities on the large estate and fine wine from the manor's own vineyard served in a unique wine cellar will allow guests to forget about the present. Or simply succumb to culinary delights as the lord of the manor regales them with tales of his interesting adventures around the world. With this project we would like to offer guests an active or a purely relaxing break. Activities in the manor grounds would include meditation, jogging, Nordic walking, cycling, mountaineering, riding or simply relaxation in the manor's wellness centre. As well as for individual guests, services could be tailored for business guests and groups (including business meetings in peaceful surroundings).

I am seeking co-financers and active partners.

ip07071502-wine cellars and olive presses

A project based on a successful example of good practice for the revitalisation of wine cellars and olive presses in Istria.

I am seeking co-financers.

July 14, 2007

ip07071402-istrian_specialities

A number of specialities from Slovene Istria were included in the 'Gastronomy Strategy of Slovenia'.

The proposed project, while taking into account the expert proposals of the 'strategy', offers a way to upgrade the quality of the services currently on offer in cooperation with local providers. This would make Istrian cuisine more 'accessible' and recognisable to potential visitors.

ip07071401-supplemented_istrian_itineraries

The Interreg project 'Local tourist facilities and themed itineraries', concluded in 2006, included the creation of themed itineraries in Slovene Istria on the basis of typical products or providers of the latter (www.istrskepoti.si).

The facilities and services already on offer could be supplemented following our proposal, enabling us to achieve a more complete and thus more attractive 'package' of facilities and services for potential visitors.

July 12, 2007

ip07071201-istrian_cuisine

The essence of the idea is to strengthen the cultural identity of Istria in the marketplace with typical Istrian dishes and an emphasis on quality and certification:
- Typical Istrian restaurant (tastings of traditional dishes prepared according to the particular traditions of Istrian cuisine).
- Presentation and sale of Istrian products from local suppliers.
- Active inclusion of tourist agencies, which would bring tourists to visit an Istrian restaurant or shop; this would be a 'compulsory' visit for every tourist.
- Teaching tourists about the history and origins of Istrian cuisine.
- Online sales of Istrian products.
- Online presentation of the preparation of Istrian dishes.

ip07071002_oslov_hrbet

Our little village in the Šavrinsko Hills spreads across a slope whose shape suggests the 'donkey's back' that has been used as its identifying symbol since our ancestors' time. Proof of this can also be found in historical literature. Since this village with its wonderful view over Koper already has an ethnology and local history collection and an open farm, while a footpath and cycle path pass nearby, we would like to increase the recognisability and attractiveness of our locality by offering additional activities at our traditional fair.

For this reason, in 2008 we plan to turn our 'donkey's back' into a venue for donkey races, a competition for the most beautiful donkey foal, and donkey-cart rides/demonstrations.
We are seeking co-financers and active partners.

ip07071001-countryside_mok

In connection with energy deposit (€-deposit) ep07052101-mok we are registering an idea deposit with which we wish to connect rural local communities and societies with the activities of the Municipality of Koper (MOK). A weekend in Koper is a welcome tourism potential which we wish to supplement with visits to villages (Marezige, Lopar, Truške, Trsek, Hrastovlje, Krkavče, Smokvica, etc.) and their fairs, festivities, expeditions, ethnological collections, farms, churches, society activities, cycle paths, footpaths, etc. Transport possibilities: (1) bus , (2) the carriage that carries tourists in Koper, or (3) the Koper tourist train.

We could also organise visits in the opposite direction: using carts, to offer a presentation of village life in Koper. We are seeking co-financers and active partners.

We are seeking financial backing and co-investors or silent partners and co-providers. We will be pleased to discuss the details of the project with interested investors in the club, wellness centre, day and night bar, B&B and with co-providers of gay-friendly tourist services in Slovenia.

Recently professional literature has identified considerable potential in this segment of the tourism market.

ip07060601-Adventure Park

The conceptual stake covers the professionally elaborated concept of the Slovenia Adventure Park.

The Adventure Park is an innovation in the area of adventure activities in nature, and is designed to provide fun for the whole family. The concept of the Adventure Park is based on a hands-on tour through a specially arranged site laid out in the form of an adventure trail. The main difference between the Adrenaline Park and the Adventure park lies in the user-friendliness of the Adventure Park. In contrast to the Adrenaline Park, the Adventure Park is suitable for the whole family, since the site has been composed and arranged in such a way that it can also be used by children aged 4 years and over, and at the same time the park can be visited entirely individually.

The main idea in devising the Adventure Park concept was to offer or construct a site that would provide for the individual visitor and groups fun in a natural environment, and where the facilities are aimed at the entire family on the basis of direct experience and adventure, and not on the basis of adrenaline.

If the concept is used, we are selling the franchise for the complete project, or we are seeking to convert the value of the franchise into a co-ownership stake in the enterprise.

ip07052801-sloveniaexplorer

Student self-initiative project: The first virtual tourist guide to Slovenia. This will be aimed at foreign and domestic tourists equally, since it will enable the planning of both long stays and simple Sunday outings. The portal www.sloveniaexplorer.com is currently already operating in the Gorenjska region. Our strategy is to offer free advertising for all facilities included in the display. In this way we would like to create a complete tourism portal offering all the information tourists need.

We are seeking additional finance and work premises.

ip07052001_austro-hungary

Outline draft of a tourism package suitable for marketing in travel agencies and other organisations where several-day trips are marketed. The idea involves the creation of a train journey following the route of the former Southern Railway of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from the 19th century. Although the line has remained in operation to the present day, it is not marketed in the tourism sense as a retail travel package.

Details in the BTPS archive. I am seeking buyers for the idea. I wish to take part in the realisation of the project.

ip07051501_wooden vessels

The purpose of the idea is the construction of wooden vessels (an example of an active project can be seen in the photograph) for river and coastal panoramic transport, boat hire or charter. Vessels of the "houseboat" type can be used as small hotels, clinics, workshops, cafés, etc. As well as the construction of a wooden vessel the idea offers the realisation of entertainment/education programmes on the vessels. Suitable locations for the realisation of the project include Slovenia's larger rivers, which flow through cities (Maribor, Novo Mesto, Ljubljana, etc.), the coast and lakes. Thanks to their attractive appearance, wooden vessels add variety to the location and services with high added value. Larger vessels can be used to hold events, parties, seminars, culinary events, meetings, workshops, themed journeys, etc. I am looking for partners to finance the idea and buyers.

(€ deposit) ep07051305-toomodern

This farm building (barn), converted into a 650m2 exhibition space called the MUSEUM OF TOO-MODERN ART, has attracted a large number of foreign and domestic cultural tourists, art experts and ordinary members of the public, who have reacted enthusiastically to the works on exhibition and to the concept of the museum. Too-modernism is a young movement which in a very original manner has captured contemporary art trends at home and around the world. The Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana commemorated us as a special phenomenon at the U3 1995-2005 exhibition.

We are located very close to the geometric centre of the Republic of Slovenia and wish to link our activity with tourism in the direction of a universal artistic residential centre. We are seeking funds to renovate the museum and are offering the use of all the buildings on the farm (120 years old and with a carters' inn in a poor state of repair), which, like the barn, we hope to dedicate to different artistic genres and tourism.

www.premoderno.com - Co-financers and active partners, write to BTPS@slovenia.info for additional information and contact with the owner of the deposit.

It is an effective supplement to the existing TetraBrik solution, realised using ordinary household waste.

I want EUR 1000 and 5% of the value of production.

ip07051301-box6

The technical problem solved by the invention is the construction of a six-part box that enables the building-in of a mixture of waste and additives that solidifies into an aggregate and forms a load-bearing construction element for building supporting walls.

I am seeking buyers, financers and active partners. I want 10% of profits.

(€ polog) ep07041701-Hypo

Name of e-deposit: Priority treatment of idea proposals at Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank d.d. with an opinion on a suitable source

Hypo Bank offers priority treatment of investment proposals to all who wish to realise idea deposits rated by the BTPS Council as "promising".

All owners of "promising" deposits can contactBTPS@slovenia.info for contact details for Hypo Alpe Adria Bank, to which they can apply with their i-deposit number for priority treatment of financing.

Advantages in the evaluation of the project for financing will be proportionate to the results of the voting of the BTPS Council on the promise shown by the i-deposit (with regard to the criteria defined in the BTPS General operating conditions) and the degree of elaboration of the plan for the realisation of the idea (business plan, risk analysis, financial plan, etc.). The authors of deposits already input in the BTPS and published in the BTPS blog may add further details to the i-deposit form submitted if they think that this will increase the chance of their deposit being rated promising.

ip07032001-interactive_slo_lj

The idea focuses on the preparation of a new interactive presentation of Slovenia the end-product of which could be offered as an educational aid, an expanded tourist guide or a souvenir or gift.

It would include the whole of Slovenia, Ljubljana would be presented in more detail as a capital (also of Europe) with its rich history and cultural heritage, but the rest of the country would remain in the foreground as a single diverse tourist destination, which owing to its small size is also our advantage.

March 15, 2007

ip07031501-cafe_LJ

The idea relates to the opening of a special type of café in Ljubljana. In view of its art-related contents, the café will be aimed at the more demanding visitor, richer tourists, artists, intellectuals, students, singles, older couples, diplomats and all those who have difficulty finding somewhere special in Ljubljana.

It will become a sought-after tourist attraction and a sight that is unique in Europe. The café could be an enhancement for Ljubljana Castle, justify the existence of a cablecar, be a specific destination for visitors and a pleasant surprise for chance tourists (see the popularity of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, another type of popular culture point).

ip07031405-MediaTourist_LJ

MediaTourist, Ljubljana Barje. The basic activity will be informatisation of the tourist according to his needs and wishes. With the help of modern information and (multi)media technologies, we will attract, inform, accompany the tourist, adapt options (excursions, gastronomy, recreation, culture etc.) to his wishes, educate him, entertain him, find him a suitable place to stay and offer him a souvenir.
