The idea has the same basis as already existing virtual museums. Virtual mapping techniques would be used in tourist locations (and, potentially, other locations) across Slovenia to create computerised images of towns, villages, castles etc., allowing visitors to "walk" through them and with a click of the mouse view whatever interests them.

In 2005 we initiated a project called "Secrets from the Ears of Istria to the Sea", of which we are the coordinators, in conjunction with the City of Koper.

We have established that the project is desirable and necessary in this part of Slovenian Istria and that it should be continued. The scope of the work is broad and multi-layered. The work will be conducted at several levels by a variety of operators, which will also guarantee better results and greater possibilities of final realisation.

From the very beginning it was envisaged that this route should also contain tourism potential. Several themed routes are developing within the project: The Smokvica Green Nature Trail, Movraž with Moravška Vala, The Edge of Moravška Vala, From Kubed to Hrastovlje, From the Source of the Rižana to its Mouth.

The project will include presentations of the life of the villagers in times past, local societies and their activities, and characteristic elements of the landscape in Slovenian Istria. The project covers the cultural, natural, historical and architectural significance of the locations.

Our purpose is to enrich the presentation of the extraordinarily rich and very specific cultural heritage in the old part of Hrastovlje, famous all over the world for its frescoes.

a) The opening of a gallery in the very centre of the village devoted to the renowned sculptor Jože Pohlen, a native of Hrastovlje and the man who discovered the frescoes.
b) The opening of a gallery devoted to the painter and fresco restorer Viktor Snoj.
c) We plan to install an exhibition of the ethnographic collections of museums in Slovenia and abroad in the village's community centre. In the future we are counting on a larger purpose-built space in which to install our own permanent ethnographic collection and a presentation of Istrian frescoes.
d) Tasting centre for local products.
e) Shop selling Istrian specialities and local wine.
f) Regulation of tourist footpath, medieval monuments. From the centre of the village to the Church of the Holy Trinity and on to the little church in Zanigrad. A longer variant would continue to the tower in Podpeč and Castle Socerb or alternatively in the direction of Kubed to the towers at Sočerga and Abitanti.
g) Installation of appropriate street furniture.

We are seeking co-financers.
